Scissor sharpening can be simple, or very complex in nature. Depending on the kind of scissors you are sharpening. Standard kitchen scissors or fabric scissors are relatively easy to sharpen. They have what is called a beveled edge, normally at a 45 degree angle. They aren't precision instruments, and are generally not very expensive.

Most scissors found in the home can be easily sharpened with a bench grinder. However, hair scissor or shear sharpening includes many steps to bring them back to 'like new' condition. Higher quality shears have a 'convex' edge which requires more finesse and care when sharpening.

We give your shears a complete servicing. Your shears are not just sharpened, they are reconditioned. We inspect, disassemble and clean. The inside ride is hand honed to like new condition. The shears are sharpened and diamond honed to a razor sharp edge. Reassembly includes, new washers and bumpers if needed at no extra charge. We oil, set the tension and adjust the tip closure.
